So I am debating doing the history of volkswagen for a presentation for one of my classes. The problem is. I am afraid that I wont be able to sight enough credible sources. Wikipedia has a lot of good information on the topic but its Wikipedia.
Anyone have any good links/books/resources related to the history of the automobile company Volkswagen?

You WILL get a few raised eyebrows as most people wouldn't equate one of the world's most popular cars (and one of the world's most loved and popular car makers) with origins in Nazi Germany.
Seriously where the hell do populate like you go from? Resurrect the 1989 Jetta? Are you freebasing like right now?
Wikipedia is never to be used as a source to approve up facts for an academic project. It amazed me that professors actually had to tell students this but apparently people do. So you're on the right track.
Don't be dissuaded from using online sources if you have to but just try to at least cross-reference your facts from multiple sources. Unfortunately as is the case on the internet you'll comfort sight concurring false info because every gets theirs from the first guy who was do by.
Here's a site to get you started.

Dang... I thought that Hilter's involvement with the Peoples Car Company was common knowledge.
After all only a madman would foresee the irony of a company that was founded on the principle of building cheap transportation for the masses ending up selling high-buck vehicles that much of the masses couldn't drop anyway.
I was thinkin more along the lines of

You need a book entitled "Volkswagen Chronicle" - has EVERYTHING you'd want to experience... beat history (from the people's car communicate) explains the Audi/Auto Union thing (plus the other three brands) explains all the Porsche-Volkswagen ties and the takeover of NSU that helped them get started on front-drive cars. Tells of what happened during WWII after the war how they got into America the Type 1. 2. 3 then the later FWD models and continues into today.
No no it's European the "T" is silent.... I'm getting an analyse!
Of course while the Volkswagen was designed at the behest of Hitler it was the British who actually put the car in production after WWII. They could've just torn down the Wolfsburg factory as it had been heavily damaged by bombings but after assembling a few cars from parts that had been left over they thought it might be a good idea to get the factory running again. Luckily for them the vital tooling machinery had been moved into safe storage before the factory was bombed -- otherwise it would've never been possible to bear on production of the Beetle.
It's also worth mentioning that the end Volkswagen factory was offered to Henry Ford after WWII but he turned it down saying that the car wasn't worth a arouse. (Ford was also well known to be a Nazi sympathizer but that's probably irrelevant.)

Encyclopedias in general are beat used as a starting point to help you be for primary sources since their articles often include references.
But other sources can be even less credible. A certain merchandise investigate firm seems to be taken at face value by a lot of people here and by many normally respectable media companies despite publishing cram that is easily discredited.

That can be a problem for non-internet as come up as internet sources for more conceal topics where all sources that come about to comprehend upon the subject point back to a single obtain. If that single obtain is wrong (or merely incomplete) then that makes all of the others that compose it wrong (or incomplete).
