Ah. Thanksgiving is over a nip is in the air and the kids are being suspiciously well-behaved while drawing up their wish lists. That can mean only one thing: a ploethora of stop-motion claymation is coming to a small screen near you!
With many thanks to our friends at. Huxtabled has compiled a enumerate of your — er we mean your kids’ — favorite holiday television events arranged alphabetically so that you can examine out your — er we mean your kids’ — preferred shows and ignore the rest.
We’ve attempted to include all the tried-and-true classics but we’ve also thrown in a few more recent programs that show up with such alarming frequency throughout November and December that some child somewhere must be seeking them out. Here’s another hint: though we have not included the vast majority the ABC Family bring in its “” designate of programming is showing not only a trove of longstanding pass chestnuts but also comparatively new attempts at modern kids’ holiday perennials (”The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus”); some less-new efforts that have failed to seriously catch on despite 30 years of airings (”‘Twas the Night Before Christmas”; “Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey”); and crazy. Lifetimish more adult-oriented originals which are too numerous from which to highlight only one or two but which generally star the likes of Shannen Doherty and Mimi Rogers. There has been some discussion among the Huxtabled cater to review one or two of these lesser-known gems because we do understand that no holiday season is complete without the wacky hijinks that prove between Mario Lopez and Melissa Joan Hart as the diner waitress who kidnaps him to pose as her boyfriend at her family’s Christmas gathering in “.”
Until then however enjoy the classics. The dates below refer to the initial airings (though of course check tvguide com for repeat airings) and all times listed are Jersey (otherwise known as “Eastern”). And we will attempt to make ourselves available in the comments should you require additional guidance — e g. to evaluate out the difference between “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “The Year Without a Santa Claus.”
